Five-Talent Strategy House Finds a Home at TechTown
You can find me at TechTown.
I have officially established not just a digital footprint, but a physical presence in the city as a member of TechTown Detroit, which now doubles as the official business address for Five-Talent Strategy House.
Five-Talent Strategy House | 440 Burroughs, Suite 651, Detroit, MI 48202
Co-working space? Absolutely.
Place to get great coffee, sandwiches, and community? Definitely.
But more than that, it’s confirmation.
That I’m here.
That I remember the promise I made to myself.
That I’m tied to the city.
A Conversation That Never Ended
I was in middle school when I decided I wanted to go to Wayne State University.
That was back when Midtown was still called the Cass Corridor, and the Cass Corridor wasn’t a place for hipsters or creatives to hang out, lemme tell you. But even back then – before the galleries, before the coffee shops, before the Whole Foods – that part of the city already felt like home to me.
Years later, I attended Wayne State. And in my twenties and thirties, that whole area became the backdrop for some of my favorite community memories.
Not my most personal ones—my communal ones.
That stretch of Woodward and Cass was where I met people, built friendships, and found creative kinship. I walked my kids through the DIA – let me tell you about Greek vases, babe. I was present when Femi Kuti played Midtown. Then years later, Seun. It’s where my kids dragged me, kicking and screaming, to see Fergie. And I taught them a Black history lesson at a free MC Hammer show. My kids went to head start, elementary school, and even summer programs in Midtown.
Twingo’s, Funk Night, Traffic Jam & Snug… That neighborhood – the energy, the rhythm, the mix of thinkers and makers – has always felt like an ongoing conversation with the city.
My point? It’s home.
So being back there now, in TechTown?
Doesn’t feel super full-circle. Not exactly.
It feels like… a continuation. Like, “What was I saying? Oh, right…”
It’s me adding another paragraph to a love letter I’ve been writing to Detroit my entire life.
Why TechTown
TechTown sits on the Wayne State campus, right in the heart of Detroit’s entrepreneurial engine.
It’s a hub for collaboration, innovation, and idea exchange – a place where Detroit’s next chapter is being written by founders, creators, and builders who believe in the city’s power to reinvent itself.
Joining that ecosystem is the right move at the right time.
I wanted a place where I could plug into the pulse of Detroit’s business and creative energy, meet collaborators face-to-face, and root my work in community. Not just in code, slides, and strategy decks. (Because ya girl can really take it there – I can rabbit hole. Quick.)
What This Means for Five-Talent Strategy House
This is just the first step.
Five-Talent Strategy House was always built with Detroit in mind – to help high-performing experts, creators, and business owners translate their talent into visibility, growth, revenue, and legacy.
But ultimately, Five-Talent is one piece of a larger vision.
It will fall under the umbrella of Manifold Media, the parent company that will house all of my creative and strategic ventures – from music and publishing to thought leadership and marketing.
And when the time comes, Manifold Media will live in the city, too. The HQ for everything I’ve been creating – in a place where Detroit’s creative economy meets digital visibility and influence.
For now, TechTown is my first foothold in that future.
While I toggle between having a middle school girl and a heavy songwriting habit.
It’s where the next phase of my Detroit story begins.
